Thailand seizes nearly $1 billion worth of ketamine

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand has seized almost $1 billion worth of contraband ketamine, most of it probably destined for Europe, Japan or Korea, the Thai Narcotics Suppression Bureau said on Thursday.

Thai troops quarantined after meeting with infected South Korea soldier

The Army has ordered 177 officers into home quarantine after they attended a meeting in Rayong with a South Korean soldier who tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. The November 2-6 meeting was held in Ban Chang district to plan next year’s Cobra Gold military exercise and was joined by officers from 10 countries.

THAI’s third quarter results show little light ahead

Consumer confidence edges up as govt stimulus fuels fragile recovery

The consumer confidence index rose only slightly in October to 50.9, from 50.2 the month before, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) reported on Thursday.

BOT allows financial institutions to make dividend payments in line with overall economic stability, impact on stakeholders

The Bank of Thailand’s deputy governor Ronadol Numnonda said on Thursday that the central bank has come up with guidelines for 2020 dividend payments, which takes into account financial institutions’ capital plans and stress test results for 2020-2022.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An internal Justice Department investigation has concluded that then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta exercised "poor judgment" by allowing financier Jeffrey Epstein to enter a non-prosecution agreement over alleged sex crimes, but cleared him and other prosecutors of any professional misconduct in their handling of the case.
