Questions about returning to Thailand on a marriage visa (with re-entry permit)

It's hard to plan now and have no idea which information is the most up to date on the Internet so I would like to get some help here.

I have a few questions about returning to Thailand on a marriage visa with a re-entry permit. I would travel back home to Hungary for Xmas and return to Thailand in January.

1. Do I need to ASQ upon arrival to Thailand on my own expense? Cannot self-quarantine in the condo I'm renting?

2. Do I need some kind of certificate before departure from Hungary to Thailand? Where would I need to present that? At the airline before departure?

3. If I have to do ASQ, are there cheaper alternatives?

Thanks in advance and stay safe all.

Yes to all your question at this time. It is hard to predict what will be different in January.

For the ASQ you will have to check the rates for the ASQ hotels then.

You will need to check with Thai embassy about there requirements. I looked on their website and found no info a about a certificate of entry and etc. https://budapest.thaiembassy.org/en/index

It's recommended you first take a look at the requirement posted on the Royal Thai Embassy for your current departure country, but given the poor state the Royal Thai Embassy Budapest, Hungary website is in maybe you'd get more info have a look at this document,

...and have a look at the ThaiVisa "Visa, Residency and Work Permits" forum for topics that may offer helpful guidance, such as the following:

Alternative State Quarantine reviews

If you have further questions post back in this topic, and hopefully someone will be able to assist.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the help.

Since the ASQ is mandatory, then I can't go back home because I'd like to come back here but it's too expensive to quarantine. ????

Cheers.

I don't foresee the recently added monetary, insurance and ASQ cost requirements being dropped anytime soon, unless drastic circumstances present (as some predict) to force a more risk-tolerant policy stance.

I thinks its going to be quite some time before any of the entry restrictions will be relaxed - especially quarantine.

As you will no doubt have seen, there are at least 2 vaccines that have presented very encouraging initial results. What is not known yet is whether or not those vaccines prevent a person from becoming infectious.  If they do, it is possible that some countries will relax restrictions for vaccinated travellers.

Maybe better to wait for the final results on the vaccines and if they do prevent infection, see what Thailand's reaction is.
