November 16, 20205 yr Good Afternoon, Firstly apologies for posting something that has probably been asked numerous times. I must confess to being somewhat clueless with this process and the current rules. I am British and married to a Thai national. I know getting to Thailand is a nightmare at the moment. I am thinking about trying to go there in December and coming back in March. I know about the STV but I have been told about something called an O Visa? Do I need a certain amount of money in savings for this visa? It isn't a retirement one, I am self-employed and 34. I might just bite the bullet and use an immigration lawyer. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers Adam
November 16, 20205 yr You can apply for a single entry non-o visa based on marriage to a Thai at the embassy in London. The application is done on line. You will only to show proof of the equivalent of about 20k baht to apply for it. Info for the non-o visa is about half way down on this webpage. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/84508-non-immigrant-visas?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562 it is hard to predict what the requirements for entry to here will be in March. Requirement for today are here. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/119247-requirements-for-certificate-of-entry-during-travel-restriction?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562#4
November 16, 20205 yr Wishing you the best as you traverse the myriad of regulations and paperwork. Hopefully by the time you wish to return they may have relaxed some of the requirements.

Your clearly a fella with good manners and missing your wife. Your only 34. Coming from old guy I would suggest you try and wait it out till next year. Hopefully vaccine will come along. In any event best of luck.

Appreciate your thoughts, I am still mulling things over. It is a constantly evolving situation, one major issue for me would be being stuck in Thailand for months longer than I planned. Business-wise and with consultancy obligations it wouldn't be good. I could do three months, but after that, it would become a real problem. I'm very lucky that virtually no one my age can do my job and the sector ( specialist auction) I work in has grown. I just don't want to burn any bridges. In reality, I think I may wait till January. I don't feel that we will see an effective vaccination next year, but then again I got a 'C' in Science Edited November 16, 20205 yr by Adam1986
