TR visa question for return ticket

Featured Replies

Hi,

for applying for TR visa the thai embassy is asking for the return ticket with proff of payment as well .   Any idea how to do as my plan is to travel to differnt country instead of returning to USA . but at this time only country I can travel is South Korea with US Passport ( I think ) .

Thank you

The will accept a one way to ticket to any country. I am not sure they would check to see if you can use it or not.

When your applying for visa in person and you can obtain visa overnight, many folk use sites such as "rent a ticket". However those tickets only available for thinks it's 72-120hours duration.

The problem buying cheap onward flight eg BKK to Saigon is that those are not available with border closures.

What I've seen so far cheapest was BKK to HKG ~100usd on EK, and they are supposed to issue vouchers upon cancellation, but not sure.  (also assuming embassy only cares that you have ticket out of Thailand, not if you can actually go there... nobody knows travel rules in 2 months time)

Good luck, and let us know how it goes, there are many people interested in SETV now when they dropped THB500k requirement.

Book a 60 day return flight but ensure there is flexibility to move the booking without extortionate charges. Airlines are being more flexible these days.

Skyscanner lets you search for the cheapest ticket from Bangkok to anywhere for a whole month.  Here's an example for March next year.  Vietnam for £35 GBP ($47 USD).
