Thai accounts woman disappeared along with the company checkbook - she stole 1 million for gambling

Klong Tan police in Bangkok announced the arrest of a Thai woman who stole a company checkbook and made a million baht in cash withdrawals to fund a gambling habit. 

 

Arrested at a friend's place in Ratchada was 29 year old Krissadee K. She was named in a warrant issued by the southern Bangkok court for stealing from an employer using fraudulent means. 

 

Daily News reported that the suspect had joined a clothes designer firm in Ekkamai as an accounts person. 

 

Not long after she suddenly disappeared and could not be contacted. 

 

The company became suspicious and realised a checkbook had also gone missing along with a million baht.

A Klong Tan police investigation revealed that Krissada had made cash withdrawals and had been engaging in illegal activity in the sale of goods online.

 

There were many internet warnings from people that had been conned.

 

The suspect told the police she spent her ill-gotten gains on trips and gambling.
