Expat Thailand Travel Media For Sale – Risen during Pandemic

With Thailand’s tourism currently only servicing the domestic market, a leading local media in conjunction with the Tourism Authority of Thailand developed a new media platform. It launched in May 2020 and was designed to open up and develop a previously ignored section for local travel, the expat.

The media was launched in conjunction with travel sponsors and a leading local media group to build a credible platform that did what it intended – get expats traveling domestically. The site is fully active with new posts made every day.

What has been achieved?

  • 42,000+ expats subscribed to weekly eNewsletter
  • Active website with good daily traffic
  • Android App with 200+ downloads (in one month)
  • Active Facebook and Instagram pages
  • Good revenue streams created – between June – October 2020 exceeding 1xx,xxx baht per month
  • Currently monetized via lead sponsors and smaller 5k baht monthly advertising packages

Why Selling?

It is not part of owners longer term plans and as such have made it available for another business to further actualize its potential.

This is not a desperate sale and the owners are in no rush to sell. What has been created is a new niche in the Thailand media market: Local Expat Travel. Market value is therefore priced at true value, with offers being invited in the region of 2-million baht.
