Planning On Phuket

Planning on going to Phuket in July, but the issue of rain keeps coming up. Is this really an issue when planning a trip there? Any opinions about Surin? Seems rather high priced. Going for the beaches and relaxation, mellow nightlife, and natural scenery. Will probably be about 4-5 days, then back to Bangkok.

For anyone living in Wongamat Beach, there's a new open mall being constructed across the street from the Centara Grand Mirage resort. It's supposed to open later this year and will contain restaurants, cafes, a grocery store, etc. With any luck, the grocery store will be good. And the area could use a few more restaurants.
