Thai Finance Minister sees foreign tourists recovering to 40 million in 2024

By 2024 Thailand is probably an "official" Colony of the PRC

and as such it is quite easy to get to 40 Mio "domestic" tourists ...

The rest seems to be a copy/paste from the world economic forum and ID2020.

[UN Agenda 2030 so to speak]

Thailand's tourism-dependent economy should receive 8 million foreign visitors next year and see a recovery to a pre-coronavirus pandemic level of 40 million visitors by 2024, the country's finance minister said on Wednesday.

That's some vision he has.

Well let's see it is year 2563 already here in Thailand, so he will be going back to the future it seems....lol.  why are these people so reticent that tourism will be back to where it was.  Is the economy so reliant on tourism, they say it is not, yet it is an everyday leading story. Tourism this, tourism that....blah blah blah.

You noticed that too.... without tourism Thailand is screwed.

"Thailand's tourism-dependent economy should receive 8 million foreign visitors next year and see a recovery to a pre-coronavirus pandemic level of 40 million visitors by 2024, the country's finance minister said on Wednesday"

Yet it is supposedly a small part of the GDP which makes no sense if the finance minister says Thailand's tourism dependent economy. Lots of BS from the statisticians for the government and yet they say the economy is recovering and all is good. So whose lying.

I've highlighted a clue.

I think Thailand has realized more isn't merrier..

You can see how media propaganda has slowly evolved the minds of all.  It's slowly morphed into a more realistic version of a recovery.

Yes, 2024 I can see it back to normal.  NOT before that.  And that's a long ways away.

I missed no point, had a gutful of people harping on about the road toll.

I'm an expert at online predictions.

Year   2087:   72 million

2088:  200 million

2089:  1 billion

2090, aliens land in Thailand:  4 billion

2091:  wasn't an alien, just farang:   100 million

2092...

What is wrong with these ministries, constantly making fools of them self.

On the other hand since Tommy Cooper's gone I'm glad we still have those cronies in the Thai government.

Based on the current appreciation rate of the Baht—by 2024, the Baht will reach parity with the USD.  And some other western currencies will dive below the Mighty Baht.

So no, I don’t see a tourism revival anytime soon, or even later.

The government plans to borrow 1 trillion baht ( $ 33 billion )

I was in the impression they were sitting on mountains of cash.

They should not allow these ministers out of their cages without a muzzle.

2024, I'll bet there was a lot of people happy to hear his view on the situation.

400 trillion visitors next year each spending 5 billion baht a day. going to rain down cash on this mo fo.

The bill-board in the op photo say's it all.. the same old same old Thailand, all it can offer.

Street food, a tattoo, a massage and fun.

They spout on about luring more affluent tourists yet only offer back-packer entertainment.

No more than usual

Road deaths happen world over, build a bridge and get over it.

I know it is not a perfect analogy but Thailand has a bad record and it would be preventable. But nothing is done...

The virus is manageable. Heaven and earth moved to get to ZERO  and destroy the economy.

Aha, he's been absorbing the buffalo's output - so that must be why he's talking sh!t.

I just hope that the vaccines are effective and there is no other virus on the loose

in 2021 to 2024. If so maybe the Tourism in the world will start to recover.

I do plan to head somewhere in the tropics again when the countries are in control of

this covid 19 virus.  I just hope that the immunity against this virus is good after getting the

vaccine. 1.5 million dead so far, and in the USA alone there will be many many more before they

get their collective act together and get control of this virus. Same thing in some other

countries.  The TAT can dream on, and have wishful forecasts, but reality will be a lot different

than their dreamy thoughts. Good luck everyone,  stay safe and healthy.
