Logic yes, but why the subterfuge. Just say it is the PM's temporary PM mansion while the other is completely retrofitted and remodeled to get it in the right perspective. Of course he gets security and a staff just like most heads of State. Instead they played a game and could care less what the normal people thought.  Looks mean everything in the real world. This government has been anything but above board with their goings on.

Of course the court rejected it, did anyone expect anything different to happen other than to get this result? The courts have already been instructed to clear his name by people higher up than him that have power to command such a ruling. Fire one conclusions bf a complete waste of time.

Every person, here or in any other country for that matter, has not only the right to express their opinions about the country they reside in, but also it's politics, the state of the economy, etc. Some of us are not here on holidays, but actually pay taxes, rent, support our families, etc. and we have every right to express our opinions. 

 

If you don't like hearing about foreigners' opinions, maybe this forum isn't the right one for you.

 

This attitude that a foreigner has no say in the topic shows just how weak, feeble-minded and threatened some people really are.

What a disgrace. I said on the other thread this would be the verdict as soon as he announced in advance that he'd accept the decision. He never would have said that unless he knew the result and the result was favourable to him.

Well, the only thing that surprises me is that the courts didn't suggest dissolving the opposition party. I mean, they are only there as token for the international stage. They are inert. The PM now has a clear run to openly do whatever he wants.

Whether he understands or not, he certainly can do whatever pleases him. This verdict helps prove that.

My version would read "Thailand has served me all my life. Since I haven't been the army chief since September 2014 and came to power through a coup, I also do not deserve to live in an army house for free and am entitled to as much security as everyone else."

as mentioned by everybody waist of money and time as would be in any country regarding the PM, but is does wake-up a lot more Thais as to how things are in Thailand which works against the PM and his government

The difference may be retired Civilians vs Government Officials responsible for Defense Budgets. It seems as logic that the Charter Court is relying on the former vs the latter. 

Thr Charter Court was created and sustained by the military. To avoid the appearance of conflict of interest, it should as a minimum recuse itself from making any ruling in Prayut's case, referring the case to the lower courts to establish the arguments for evidence pro and con.

As a side note (I still think he should have been removed from office), Thai people believe that the PM's mansion is haunted and all Prime Ministers have refused to live there.

 

There was one prime minister who used the mansion, I think his name was Chuan. He was known to never use the bedroom and slept on a sofa in his office!
