Of course, this was absolutely reprehensible of the Police. Admittedly there was a media frenzy in progress, but evenso, that's so weak! Not in any way an excuse, but for understanding, the Judges comments helpfully explain the Nowak event - "No one has anything kind to say about the police officers who attended to Henry on the evening he was stabbed in Southampton, but it is worth reading the judge’s remarks. It does not necessarily absolve them from blame, but it places events in a context that a two-minute video cannot. “The police were given a convincing but wholly false narrative of the incident,” he said. “It was dark and Henry was wearing a dark top. The entry damage caused by the knife through it, would not have been obvious… It is the experience of the criminal courts that sometimes, someone arrested and handcuffed will feign injury in the hope they may be released.
