Good co-working space in Bangkok with startups?

Work spaces are kind of a joke, even amongst the digital nomad liars... Broadband is dirt cheap, here, and rent is pretty reasonable.  It is widely acknowledged that the people making real money remotely don't go near those places, let alone were doing it decades before the phrase was used to describe a trash packer or visa runner with a laptop. BTW, WHOTF actually still uses a laptop?  Do you use a pocket protector, too?

Hey

Any recommendations for a nice co-working space in Bangkok with mostly startup tenants? Preferably a mix of both Thais and foreigners.

Thanks.

True Digital Park near Udom Suk BTS is probably the best place if you want to be in a real startup environment.

What is a "digital nomad liar"?

Seems a lot of hi-concept, European funded "Co-Working spaces" came; dropped a bundle of money then quietly departed leaving some big, empty spaces.  Covid certainly didn't help but some of them were on the way out even before the pandemic.

In European and US coffee shops, generally you can't just buy a single espresso and plop yourself in for the day but Bangkok has a plethora of nice coffee shops, most providing free wi-fi who would never think to make a customer feel like they were wearing out their welcome.  Why would one pay B500+/day for a co-working space when coffee shops are so easy.

One acquaintance who did try working at a Phra Khanong co-working space said it was actually quite expensive with a lot of niggling fees but mostly, he found that many of those there were there with the idea of selling/promoting something and looking for investors or free services.   It was more "networking" than "co-working"

Fair question.  The ones who are making all their profits from selling the dream instead of doing.  And add a few, running finance scams.

Indeed. All the guys on YouTube interrupting my music, telling me I should drop everything and buy into whatever they’re selling, doing something online to make massive amounts of money. If it really worked, we’d all be doing it, and they certainly wouldn’t be sharing it. The secrets to no money down real estate flipping, life coaching, ETF trading, retail arbitrage, yadda yadda.

It’s the crux of all self-help, like all those motivational guys. The idea is that it sounds good, like it just might work, and that’s what sells it. Perhaps it has an inadvertent, placebo effect. Maybe you think it‘s working, and it might drive you to really do something. But are they really viable and effective on their own? Doubtful.

I’m seeing more and more of them popping up in these banner ads, “Thought about a second income?”, “Mom makes an extra $1000 a week”, waving around a wad of money. Sad that our existing incomes, which many of us are barely holding onto, aren’t enough. Sad there are now a lot more desperate people falling for such. The “coworking space”, the “digital nomad”. Quit your job and live the dream. Nice dreams. But they remain just that, as most of them have not proven viable enough to replace the real jobs we must hang onto.

Wear a mask and use an unsecured WiFi in a shared space or no mask, secure private Internet in your own home for far less?  Also, it seems like their numbers have thinned dramatically in CM, and that is just indicative of what a revolving door that and the TEFL scam really is.
