Suddenly I'm eligible for an STV. I'm not sure whether it's possible to convert my SETV, or whether I'm stuck with 60 + 30 days. Anyone know?

A STV can only be applied for at Thai embassy or official consulate which means you could not change to one while in the country.

    In short No... Tourist Visas can only be obtained outside of Thailand.

     

    You can convert it to a Non-O if you meet the requirements

    Sorry...not possible...

    A STV cannot be converted to any other visa inside Thailand. Its specifically prohibited in the Thai Immigration law enacting the STV.

     

    2.5 STV cannot be changed to any other type of visa during the duration of stay in Thailand.

    2.6 If the STV holder is found to be in breach of the conditions for entry into Thailand, the stay permit will be revoked immediately and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand.
