Application For New British Passport

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anybody recommend a Photo Shop

(- maybe near British Embassy)

that Specialises in meeting the very onerous Requirements

of Photos for British Passports?

Thanks

2 recent identical photos (35mm x 45mm) with white background - I would not call those 'onerous requirements'.

I took along a copy of The IPS Guide to Taking a Good Photo for Your Passport, and showed it to my local shop that did passport photographs,

The girl soon got her head round what I needed

The results were so good that the British Embassy BKK issued me a passport.

You can download a copy of The IPS Guide to Taking a Good Photo for Your Passport below

Not sure if my download on the my previous post is working but you can find the link for The IPS Guide to Taking a Good Photo for Your Passport at the following.

This link looks out of date to me, as it refers to 48 page passports being available.

Last time I was at the Embassy, I overheard them recommending someone to go to Wave Place, the shopping mall just over the road where Home Pro is located. I think there is a photo shop on the ground floor where they understand the strict requirements.

Dear Mr Hippo

Before jumping in with your 4 Big Feet and unhelpful Replies ...

Why not find out what the Subject is REALLY about !!!

If you download the requirements ...

you will find out that one of the MANY - "onerous" / STRICT

requirenents is that the Background must NOT be "White" !!!

MM - Thanks for the Link - I have seen that and hence

the need to find a Photographer that has seen it

Graham - yes I recall that Photo Shop - there is a bridge connecting that building

to the Sky Train - and I have passed it by several times

Thanks for jogging my Memory

Hope they are aware

Well, either you have not read the requirements,

or the document from the OP is wrong.

The "requirements" linked above clearly state a WHITE background,

however it also talks about a 48 page passport.

I was under the impression this is not currently available.

All VERY confusing.

British Embassy document IPS Guide to Taking a Good Photo for Your Passport states

The background for the photograph should be off-white, cream or light grey plain background so that your features are clearly distinguishable against the background

You can get the 48 page passport it was available anyway the on march 26 as i was there for my daughters passport

You can get the correct photos in the mall across the road on the ground floor as some members have mentioned ready in 30minutes and they open at 0900 in the morning.
