so my friend paid an agent for a medical visa back in September in a panic over the amnesty ending. The visa expires around christmas.  They originally arrived on a visa exemption a few weeks before borders closed in march.

Can they now apply for a covid extension? their embassy is not issuing letters.

If so, would that just be the regular counter K with TM7?

Hi,

I was on a study visa until end December. Flight home  back postponed to February,  due to Corona. Need extension.
Immigration asked official letter from my embassy too. I asked my embassy. They stated (translated from Dutch).

-----------------------

The Dutch Embassy no longer issues Covid-19-related visa support letters. The Thai Ministry of the Interior has released rules for foreigners now residing in Thailand based on the amnesty scheme that ended on October 31, 2020. Foreign nationals who wish to stay in Thailand after October 31st can apply for a long extension of stay at the Thai Immigration Service for up to 90 days after October 31st, but will be charged a fine. Those who do not have a valid visa afterwards will be treated as an illegal alien, possibly resulting in arrest, prosecution and deportation. Additional information can be found on the website of the Thai Immigration Office https://www.immigration.go.th/en/ The Thai Immigration Authorities have indicated that a letter of support from the embassy is not necessary. A statement completed and signed by the applicant (see appendix) is sufficient.

-----------------------

I have attached that appendix (Consent form). I asked immigration again. They said okay. So we're okay now (go with papers to immigration around 23 december).

In short...contact your Embassy ????

Hopes this helps for you.

Regards,
