Popular Post webfact
Thai business woman says she was defrauded of 42 million baht by medium Picture: Sanook A female owner of a roofing business has gone to a top lawyer to complain that she was defrauded of 42 million baht over many years by a medium called Sim, 34. Kanlaphat, 51, said she met Sim and her husband Piak, 41, in 2016. She believed that by allowing a famous monk to enter her body the medium was able to communicate with the spirit world. Principally her dead daughter. What followed was more earthly however. Using the mediums name she was persuaded to part with 42 million for investment deals, house purchases and even a factory. Her friends fell victim too. In October of this year the penny finally dropped. Calling the money a loan Kanlaphat said she contacted the medium for a return of 10 million baht as she was in debt. The medium said she was unable to pay the money back immediately as she was in hospital with Covid. A check at the hospital proved otherwise. Kannayao police in Bangkok had proved useless so she has now turned to celebrity lawyer Ronarong Kaepetch. Ronarong said it was a tricky brief. The victim's daughter said she had warned her mum all along after she was bullied by the medium herself. Contacted via phone the medium has denied everything. Selective intelligence? Not sure, but it has always amazed me how some wealthy people, some self made, can be such morons when it comes to the application of basic common sense. We have one who will presently leave the White House as a prime example. 5 1
kidneyw
Always amazes me, that one would assume, you would need some smarts to make big money. Yet over and over again, we hear of these scams being perpetrated on "<deleted> for brains" victims.
Popular Post greenmonkey
Honestly, Thai women of a certain age will believe absolutely anything that these so called mediums and fortune tellers tell them. Against all advice my mother-in-law purchased a guesthouse in Australia on the 'say-so' of a fortune teller. 10 years on she is the proud owner of an asbestos riddled shed which she cannot even get to after being blacklisted by Australian immigration. My wife's auntie was advised by one fortune teller to buy a second hand car from the fortune teller as it would bring her luck. It broke down within weeks and turns out she bought a wreck of a car. The list of stories I have heard is endless. Its just gullible people that will believe anything.... and many of them keep on making the same mistakes again and again and again.... they just do not learn.
