well done!

One good reason to live in Isaan ..get the air quality app for your mobile and see for your area and for curiosity parts of BKK .

I moved to Issarn to get away from Chiang Mai's toxic air, but I have to disagree with Rmac 442.  we may have the cleanest air in the Kingdom but it's almost as toxic as CM or BKK.

Sorry folks - but after living in C Mai for over twenty-five years with the last eight in our own 'palace' in Saraphi,  being diagnosed with a T1 throat cancer as a non-smoker in 2013 was enough for me and the Thai "boss" to decide that there was no way we were going to let our then 3 y.o. daughter breath that s*** any more. We thought about relocating to other parts of LOS for a whole ten seconds. We quickly realised that you can't escape the filthy air, or the ignorant mentality of 'burn every-damn-thing-every-damn-day' without escaping LOS, so we left. We have now spent 7 lovely years in the same little valley where I grew up in northern NSW, in Australia. Crystal clear pure fresh air, 99% of the time, unless the occasional smell of horse & cow poo upsets you, as we live on a farm. The missus is an Aussie citizen now and says, when I ask about LOS (and I quote) "no ****ing way am I ever going back there". Her hiso school-friend keeps posting pictures of all the places that she visits around LOS with her rich Chinese-Thai husband. Mrs P just smirks. She's a keeper.

Today’s news puts Chang mai as the worst air quality in the world

Yeah, same thing in London with the coroner finding the air pollution was a problem with that school girl dying.  Parents would 't not let their kids play in the road, not sure why they think exposing them to pollution is ok ?  It's the biggest killer on the planet, something like 8 million a year, dwarfing anything else.  I noticed it when I came home years ago from Cambo and Thailand, to my home in Northern NSW, the clean air, that being able to see the sun  and not a dim orange glow in the distance.

Air quality control is beyond the comprehension of the present regime, all they can do is monitor.

Really - I have the windows wide open, clear views in every direction and an AQI of 46...

But keep on bashing... is there some sort of personal reward you get from misinforming people?

The air quality in Chiang Mai seems to have improved a lot since Saturday . A few minutes ago, at 22:35 (10:35 PM), the app I use shows an AQI from 10 to 20, depending on the location. What figures does the source you are using give?
