Another thing I've noticed with K-Biz is that you cannot have a VPN active when logging on or K-Biz app will not start. I use Ad-Guard app on my mobile and must turn it off before I start K-Biz or I

well maybe if you are not in Thailand at the moment ??

Usually 2 reasons, your outside Thailand, or you have downloaded the WRONG APP as the notice n your phone suggestes.

I logged in to my KBANK Debit account last week to zero out the monthly spendings on my credit card.

Nope, cannot log in.... need a code or something from the K-Biz app.

Downloaded the app from the play store, no issue there.... nope cannnot register as passport is expired and facial recognition needs to be done at a branch.

I have tomorrow afternoon of work as personal leave to go to the branch to sort this.

I expect it to not go well.

My passport on file expired in 2021 so will need to update (luckily still have old PP on hand).

My Kbank passbook was last updated in 2017.

ATM card my my debit account expired in 2019.

All this BS just so I transfer from my BBK Bank account to my Kbank debit account to pay my KBANK credit card which is now past due and has been blocked from use and acrueing 18% interest on the outstanding balance.

My predicament is entirely on me though, shoulda kept passport on file up to date and should read the important emails from KBANK telling this was coming!

Kudos for admitting that but curious with all the recent threads about it why you didn't keep it updated?

It doesn't matter if you download the App outside Thailand. I downloaded it and followed the registration process from germany and works very well.

In fairness, with Kasikorn Bank that hasn't really been necessary unless and until you needed to go there to change something anyway. I've never visited them just to update my passport, unlike with Bangkok Bank who have always been anal about that.

True, you can wait for a problem or be proactive and avoid it

I used my wifi at home.

Surpising that worked from Germany, every thread I've read on the subject here said they needed to use data from their thai sim

Just use kplus on phone. Easy. I have credit card, my bank account and our joint account all available on kplus. Never pay interest on credit card always transfer by end of month.

I use KBank on mobil and also on my laptop

a month or so ago it just stopped noting I had to do an update .... had to go to a branch and have them go thru all the fanfare to release it

It says nothing about baring foreigners (how would it know your nationality anyway?) It says your using an untrusted source. Do you need K Biz anyway? If you have a personal account, you should be using the K Plus app.

All my info is updated including passport and facial recognition as of November last year. I'm still unable to register for the k-biz and a bank visit will be required. My K-Bank app is still working (for now) so no hurry. I just can't log into the website now without the K-biz

As others have stated use the Kplus app on mobile not the Kbiz app.

I have had the K BIZ app for many years and log in from the Philippines to transfer money and check my balance before a trip.

The last time was 4 months ago but now tho it accepts my account info etc says it can't connect me until I attend a branch for facial recognition. Heading back on 23rd so will do that.

HI maybe from someone that went through the maze.

First contacted support advised that I needed to have some stuff updated To wait 24 hours.

Went to the bank after the time to make sure I had everything and my passport was up to date.

Made sure all my info was correct. They contacted CC and was advised that due to the holiday Monday, things had not been done.

I had access to my account at 9 that night.

If people remember, I set up a thread about the lies we were told. This was the reason

Best of luck, it is not the end of the world, and they are not doing this to punish you, bad farang. It is to protect their Thai customers and ensure that the Thai government does not make things worse.

He didn’t blame the bank. He admitted he caused his own problem.

I sorted my mess this morning, took an hour at the branch.

AFAIK you need the K Biz app to log into internet banking on a computer.

I went to the bank this morning (Business branch Laem Chabang).

Passport on record updated.

New ATM debit card issued.

New bank book issued.

Kplus app installed and set up on my phone.

KBiz app updated and facial recognition sorted.

1 Hr all in, was actually a pleasant experience.

They even gave me a cup of coffee!

This is one part praise for KBank and one part rant.

I prefer to do online banking via my notebook computer while at home, rather than use the phone banking apps. I feel more secure on my own home network, and I can save copies of my transactions via a pdf file.

I already had the K-Plus app. And by luck I had just gone to the bank branch to get a new passbook (book bank). While there I showed the rep a message from KBank regarding facial recognition. So she took care of that for me - for the K-Plus app. She said nothing about a K-Biz app.

Anyway, two days ago I installed the K-Biz app because online banking wouldn’t allow me to sign in without authorization via the K-Biz app. They have sort of a 2FA which utilizes a QR code shown in the online screen. You scan that with the K-Biz app, and you’re in.

I downloaded the new app. My Apple account is USA based but I had no issues around that. The app asks you to input various data like name, PP number, etc. Then you have to scan your face using the phone camera. No issues with any of that either. I was expecting problems and glitches but it was quick and easy.

And it worked! I logged into my account online, checked my balance and recent transactions. Then I tried to transfer funds to a contractor and the wheels sort off fell off. Transaction cannot be completed because it is over my daily limit - which is set by the bank at 49,999.99. And it can’t be increased, except on a temporary basis.

So why?

Why do we need two banking apps? They couldn’t just add those features into the K-Plus app?

Why, if we have to use all these security features is there such a low daily limit for bank transfers on the account?

At a time when they should be encouraging phone banking and online banking, they are instead forcing us to visit a physical branch to transact our business.
