Can a work permit be extended beyond passport validity?

My work permit expires January 2021 and my passport expires August 2021. Can I extend my work permit for 2 years as usual or will they only extend it to the passport expiry date? I don't plan to travel next year so was going to wait until June to renew my passport.

Yes, you will get 2 years extension of your work permit despite your passport expiring earlier.

When does your extension of stay end? Those are only issued to the day your passport expires.

Extension of stay was done October 2020 and I didn't get a full year because of the passport expiry.
