Thai PM asks public to notify officials of illegal migrant smuggling networks

Prayut-Thailand-COVID.jpg

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha has asked the public to provide the authorities with any information they may have on illegal migrant smuggling networks which, he believes, are the cause of the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Samut Sakhon. He also asked people to be more careful and not to share misleading messages that could create panic or project a false image of Thailand abroad.

Prayut said the legal migrant workers in Thailand are not a cause of the problem, but those who have snuck in illegally are, because they didn’t go through the COVID-19 screening process. Related agencies have been ordered to investigate the migrant smuggling networks, and find factories which hire illegal workers.

Last night, some employers reportedly abandoned illegal workers on the street, fearing punishment for hiring them. Prayut also asked the Interior and Labour ministries, and related agencies, to find appropriate solutions to register migrant workers.

What's the number to report Prawit????

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan defended officials at the borders, saying nobody could be blamed for the new Covid-19 outbreak.

The army are the ones who always step in to help when there's an emergency.  Remember the big flood?  It was the army who was there to help.  They did a great job.

Maybe you are confusing the army with the police?

I hear ya, but the problems with the army are at the top, not the bottom.  Some great people are in the army.  The police are corrupt from top to bottom.

A 10,000 Baht reward you might get some results

All employers who hire illegal workers will be harshly dealt with............ unless connected to the establishment.

Do some research on the army under General Suchinda, 1992!

Ask your rich friends, square face.

I have that poster on ignore but unfortunately when you quoted him I saw the comment.

He must be woefully ignorant of Thailand's history.

LOL.  Can say what I want as you won't see it!

Hardly ignorant of Thailand's history.  Just saying there are some good people in the army.  And they have done well.  But yes, still corrupt and not serving the people as well as they should.  Still, better than the police.

Well Bubi, you do have a mess of your own making at your hands, don't you...

Just take another MRT inaugural train ride and the problem will go away.

The people that are to blame are the company owners who offer employment to illegals which attracts such people... if there was no chance of work they wouldn't come!!!!!

STOP PLAYING THE BLAME GAME UNTIL YOU LOOK INWARDS

Wasn't this the type of thing the BMW Smart Car was supposed to put an end to? Where is the BMW Smart Cart? in Samut Sakhon?

There are some great people within the ranks.... just not the ranks that matter or can make a difference.

I hear ya, but these company owners are rich and well connected.  Pretty much untouchable due to corruption.  As you well know.:jap:

https://www.seafoodsource.com/news/supply-trade/thai-union-owners-confirm-acquisition-of-english-soccer-club

Thai tuna tycoon Dejphon Chansiri has bought Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, which currently plays in the second tier of English soccer, for an undisclosed sum.

Chansiri’s family controls Thai Union Frozen Products Public Company Limited (TUF), the world’s largest producer of canned tuna products. He had been in talks with Sheffield Wednesday’s previous owner Milan Mandaric and his company UKFI Ltd. since the end of last year.

Thai public asks the administration to arrest corrupt officials involved in smuggling illegals across the border, involved in human trafficking, illegal fishing and other illegal activities.

Stop the pretending. You know exactly what is going on. Saving face again? That gets so boring. You are so predictable.

Only detects Farang

So, you want the public to police illegal migrant smuggling networks...

You want the Press to police corruption...

What do you do again Cha Cha?
