What happens if you don't apply for a extension of stay ( parent ) at the required one month before permission of stay date?

Asking for a friend, he's about a week left before his 90 days are up.

Thx.

Nothing happens. It is not mandatory that the extension be done a month early. It can be done on the last day if needed.

ok, so provided he turns up with all the correct paperwork then no drama's?

What happens if he's missing something and has to go back a day or 3 later and goes on to overstay, any issues?

Thank you.

Pay the 500 baht a day overstay is all that would happen if only a few days late.

He could also apply for a 60 day extension to visit his child if he needs more time to do the one year extension.

Sorry but another question.

He's on a 1 year non O based on child, once his 90 days are up how long will his extension be for?

What docs are required and what is the cost?

Thank you.

The one year extension starts on the day his 90 day permit to stay ends. Same for the 60 day extension if he applies for one.

The fee for all extensions of stay is 1900 baht.

The required document for a extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai can vary from office to office. He should check with them about what their requirement are.

He will need 2 completed TM7 forms with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached with a set of supporting documents for each form.

He will 400k baht in a Thai bank on the day he applies. He will need a letter from his bank confirming his account and balance on the day he applies and his bank book plus copies of it.

He will need his child's birth certificate and copies of it. Proof that he is the legal father of his child by way of marriage or legitimization of his parenthood (Kor Ror 11). Copies of their house book registry and ID card if they have one.

Photos of him and his child in and around the house (2 sets of photos) with one of them showing them with the house number in it.

A map to the house from nearest main road or intersection.

Those are for the one year extension.

His child has to be with him when he applies for either extension.

For the 60 day extension he will need their birth certificate and a copy of it. A copy of their house book registry.
