I've had the pleasure of seeing her live on the bar circuit in Chicago. Here she is beltin' out I'm A Woman. This is off of the same album as Wang Dang Doodle, her '78 The Earthshaker. They made it on a tour to the States but unfortunately they never gained traction. They have been frequently compared to the Sundays, Cocteau Twins and the Cranberries. Carole King's song has been covered by a lot of artists. A lot of weak covers, in my opinion, but this Pretenders' version cut in '97 is very worthy.
