Hi,

My daughter (adult) is stuck in the UK and we want her to come home to Thailand. Her university has all been moved online and all students told not to return to dorms until April.  She grew up here in Thailand as we are long time expats here (Elite Visas).

Thailand will now allow normal tourists in (albeit 14 days in ASQ), but as she is in the UK we are expecting a ban on travel into Thailand any day now (govt have requested the CCSA issue a ban on UK arrivals).
I have heard of some Brits travelling to a 3rd country to spend a couple of weeks there and then get a COE from there into Thailand.
I just checked Dubai website but it states you need to be a long term resident or citizen of Dubai to obtain a Thai tourist visa from the Thai embassy.

Does anyone know (first hand) of any friendly country that she could travel to and obtain a tourist visa into Thailand?...

I'm worried that she will start the COE process in the UK and then the ban will take place and she will be stuck there.

A certificate of entry can be issued anywhere a person is at. There is no requirement for residency to get one.

Many embassies and official consulate will only issue visas to to citizens and legal residents of the country where they are located or responsible for.

You daughter could enter visa exempt and get the COE about anywhere.
