LONDON (Reuters) - Britain reported 54,940 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, a slight drop from the number on Saturday, and 563 new deaths within 28 days of a positive test, government data showed.

Deaths had been above 1,000 for four consecutive days before Sunday, although the numbers at the weekend are often lower due to delays in collecting the data.

And the rate continues to rise as people continue to ignore the restrictions.  It is up to individuals to self police.  This government haven't got the guts to put in place a proper lockdown.  The year ended with the highest death rate in Europe through Covid-19 and the deepest recession.

The Country is paying regent price for the Xmas/NY relaxation.

Boris spotted riding his bike on Olympic Park, 7 miles from Downing Street whilst telling everyone else not to be complacent and keep to the guidelines.

Meanwhile 2 women get accosted by Police for driving 5 miles, socially distancing with a coffee the Police said was classed as having a picnic. Then yesterday I’m the region of 3000 people including Police lines the streets to welcome the Spurs football coach to Marine for a Cup Game. No social distancing and no intervention by Police.

They are are all over the place. Sham.
