volunteer visa after tourist visa possible?

Featured Replies

Would it be possible when one has gotten a Thai tourist visa to extend the stay in Thailand by getting a volunteer visa afterwards?

Edited by agg211

It is possible to apply for a 90 day non-o visa entry at immigration based upon qualifying for an extension of stay based upon volunteer work.

After getting the 90 day entry you can apply for 90 day extensions up to a total stay of one year year or one year dependent upon the organization or foundation you are working with.

Yes it is possible, but you will need to make sure you have at least 20 days left on your visa.

It is also possible from Exempt Entry.

His tourist visa would no longer be valid. After entering the country the visas expiration date means nothing. Only the permit to stay date is important after entering the country.
