January 25, 20215 yr does anyone have any info on the PTT OR IPO there is not much information online in English. i could only find links to thai sites https://www.prachachat.net/economy/news-599685 thoughts , good, bad, indifferent? thanks
January 26, 20215 yr For me, too early to tell. Probably a decent enough long-term bet. Personally, I don't touch shares at IPOs and as a matter of fact also not for several years after IPO. Then again, that's my personal strategy.
January 26, 20215 yr Yesterday we reserved a good-sized chunk of OR shares and very much hope to get them all assigned. Seems like a good way to own those parts of PTT that are less prone to buffeting by the swings of crude oil prices.

PTT has earlier stated that they don't make much money for selling fuel, but their Amazon coffee chain, and thier convenient store leases, generates the profit, and that seems to be part of their expansion. Another question is what PTT has in the pipeline for the future further away, like charging electric cars, or supply for fuel cell vehicles? The offered price for new shares seems to be fair, and has already generated a huge interest. If you have free funds, and is willing to take the always existing risk when investing in stock market, it might be a good item in your Thai portfolio...????

If your "application" is drawn will they award you whatever you asked for? Seems doubtful.
January 26, 20215 yr This stage of the process is intended to serve the smaller investors. When the subscription period ends next week, they will tally the requests, do some averaging, do some randomizing, not sure what else. Depending on our luck and the overall demand, we could receive anywhere from 0% to 100% of our requested shares (at 18 baht per, paid in advance). This was handled, very efficiently, at a nearby Krung Thai Bank branch. If we are awarded anything less than requested, the bank will refund the difference on the spot, in cash.
