Police raided five marijuana farms and destroyed more than 20,000 plants in the foothills of a mountain near the Cambodian-Vietnamese border in Takeo province’s Kirivong district on Saturday.

 

Kirivong deputy district police chief Major Keo Kimheng said the district police, district military police force in collaboration with the local police raided five different marijuana farms about 8am in Kirivong district’s Preah Bath Chhoum Choan commune.

 

He said the raid was conducted after police surveillance of the farms and patrolling in the areas situated along the valleys of the mountain in the commune. However, Major Kimheng said when the police moved in, the owners of the farms fled the scene on seeing them.
