Does anyone know where I can get the cheapest fare for a July flight from Chiang Mai to Toronto or Montreal, Canada? Or can anyone recommend a good travel agency in CM or BKK? Would like to avoid USA stopover. Thanks.

Air Canada does non-stops from Hong Kong to Toronto on the A345. That's your fastest trip. For inexpensive try China Eastern to Vancouver and Harmony to Toronto (They codeshare)

By July the Non-stop 777 flights from Narita to Toronto should have begun too.

There's also both Air France and KLM, transiting through Europe, but I don't know that either would be the cheapest choices.

There used to be a good tour agency in Chiang Mai, 20 years ago, called Green Tour. Anyway, you can get a 'special' fare flying from Bangkok to Shanghai on Thai Airways, and then board Air Canada to get to Toronto/Montreal. For whatever reason, it is about $25-50 cheaper than the Hong Kong flight to Toronto/Montreal flight. To get to Bangkok from Chiang Mai, try Nok Air early in the morning. The Thai Airways flight leaves Bangkok in the late morning or early afternoon. Cathay Pacific also flies direct to Toronto from Bangkok.
