Not wanting to put my foot in my mouth saying the wrong things here, you go on days wondering around not seeing a disabled body anywhere... i think that Thailand is not a disable body friendly country as far as offering good access to facilities as in the west and not sure either how good is the seriously disabled people treatment are for those who need professional help or the care of socialists, but what do i know....

'Not Disabled body friendly My mate has lost all use of arms and hands, he recently needed to open another bank account (for reasons i won't go into) with BANKOK BANK they refused coz he can't sign the same as in his passport. Even immigration except his thumb print and the yellow bank let him change to one letter only (an X is not allowed), they will except a thumb print but can't have an ATM card if thumb print only.

Totally agree with you, Brianthe,
Thailand is not at all adapted to the handicap.
When they redo the sidewalks, they are quickly demolished or occupied by motorcycles or others.
In addition, living in a peaceful place, with very few farengs around, is not ideal.
Even when you are in great shape, living only with locals is not recommended.
Before Collin jumps on me, angrily, I know these problems very, very well and you can very well find a small town where rent is not expensive and where you can meet people.

Come on mate, why would i be angry with you?

Me all sweetness and light, never get angry:cheesy:????.

I do disagree with you though, i am quite happy living here in the sticks, just me, her indoors and my dogs.

I certainly agree Thailand is not adapted for disabled people, in fact i think it is a damn disgrace.

A year or so ago we went to the bank in Khonkaen, to get in you have to climb a flight of stairs, so i cannot get in.

Wife goes in, they insist she cannot enter my pin, only i can do, 4 of the staff come down to the pickup, you have to come in yourself and do it, what !!

So i told them ok you get a couple of strong men lift me into the bank, i said to 1 woman, here you hold this ( my urine bag ).... Priceless look on her face, they quickly changed their minds, ok your wife can enter your pin.

Colin, if you're happy with your surroundings, I'm genuinely happy for you.
I wish you good luck and a good day.

I have many LB friends--they are fun to drink and party with, same as my gay friends..they have a zest for life!

And they never ask me for money...my only rules is I will play along, and love the "lady" parts...just never want to see the "boy" parts

Out of sight out of mind!   A few of them work at a cabaret and are hot as Rhianna and lady gaga.....talk about a Bad Romance! ????

And I'll take cute chinese gals to the shows so they can take pics..win win!

I, like you, have not left my home since I can remember; take solace in the fact that the whole world is going down the toilet and watch from the sidelines ...........
