BMA offical Silapasuay Raweesaengroon said that events featuring lots of planned marriages next Sunday, Valentine's Day, have been cancelled due to the pandemic.

This applies to all 50 districts of the capital.

If you want to tie the knot just go to the BMAQ site and get a time and day that works for you, she said. That way Covid can be contained.

Thailand usually makes a big song and dance of Valentine's with the area of Bang Rak (the district of love) attracting thousands of brides and grooms.

I met a Thai lady once and she desperately wanted to marry me on Valentine's day....what a shame my flight back to the states was on Friday 13th and couldn't be changed.

What about social distancing  later in the day?
