Hi to everybody,

I would like to know if it would be possible to keep a Thai marriage visa without leaving the Country after married in Thailand. The person interested is married with a Thai girl and got the Thai Marriage visa for several years. Now the problem is that he and his wife decide to divorce and he would like to marry with a new Thai girl. There is any chance for him to extend the Marriage visa with the new wife or he need to leave the Country and make quarantine there and here? Any special regulation for the Covid time for people just married in Thailand and that need to apply for marriage visa but would like not to leave the Country?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

What does he actually have? Does have a non-o visa issued by an embassy or consulate or a extension of his permit to stay issued by immigration?

If a extension of stay it ends on the day his divorce is final.

Extension of stay

If his divorce is already final he may be on a overstay unless he canceled his extension and got a different extension.

If he went to immigration now to cancel his extension they could fine him for a overstay since the divorce was final or cancel his extension effective the date his marriage ended and tell him to leave the country.

You can't get married to another Thai national straight away.. I think it's 2 years after divore before you can marry again.

There is no such rule.

The time period is only for the ex wife to get married again and that is due to her possibley being pregnant that can be resolved by her getting a pregnancy test done.
