Dual marriage drama: "Can't stop the blessing" says abbot who praises mum after she whacks groom

Daily News hotfooted it to the temple of Wat Tha Chai in Muang Chainat to get the view of an abbot at the center of a marriage drama gripping Thailand.

 

The mother of the groom - a cop who had sneaked off to marry his gold shop girl on the side - whacked her son over the head as monks from the temple were delivering their blessings in a chant. 

 

Phra Khru Samupongyot said that the monks had head a commotion outside and thought it was children arguing. 

 

But when it moved inside it was not right to stop the chanting - the blessing had to go on.

 

One of the monks waved the mother outside.

 

In all his 16 years in the monkhood - officiating at a 100 and more weddings, monk Sampongyot said he had never seen anything like this.

 

But he stopped short of condemning the mother for the violence - a no-no in the Buddhist religion. 

 

Instead he praised her for her moral fiber and impartiality in not siding with her son.

So the wife, the kid, the mother, the marriage certificate all arrive as does the newspaper, no preplanning in this at all.

Its a set up

Cant stop the blessing, monks kept going scared that if they stopped they would not get paid.

A setup??? Please tell me more... How can it be a setup, when a married man sitting marrying another woman? Where is the setup?

 

Doesn´t matter if his wife and mother knew it days before. Still no setup.

those people live locally and in this case was a public persons, a cop - so every monk knows him.

 

his bride must have known, that he is already married and has 2 kids.

 

a very messed situation, with monks also being guilty

Idiot. This guy has ruined so many peoples lives with his disgusting behaviour. His family will not be able to walk anywhere without being recognised. His children could face bullying and loss of face at school. The mistress has already been fired from her gold shop job and his job as a police captain is now in jeapardy - how will he support his families now?
