Ok so im probably asking same question as many others before.

What is the correct visa to enter thailand for a long stay until I can arrange marriage, banking etc,.

Are you over 50 ?

Otherwise there are not a lot of long stay options you immediately qualify for.

Most enter on a tourist visa then do a conversion in Thailand to an O visa, then extension, based on circumstances, retire, married etc.

Maybe mention your nationality as certain visa may not be an option.

You need a valid reason to apply for a long stay visa. The only visas that are classified as longstay are Non-OA, Non-OX and Thai Elite since they allow one year permit to stay when entering the country.

Unless you can qualify for a non immigration visa the longest stay you can get is 60 days from a single entry tourist visa that can be extended for 30 days if you want to change visa categories for long stay later.

A STV (special tourist visa) allow a 90 day permit to stay on entry and you can apply for 2 90 day extension but it cannot be changed to another category of visa.
