Poll -- Will president elect Trump last through his term?
I can't take seriously any suggestion to listen to Tucker Carlson! I am well acquainted with how Trumpists think. You act like you're telling something new to me. Do you imagine I would be persuaded by their idiocy? Also you think I only look at left wing sources. So you haven't noticed that my primary influence on matters Trump is from conservative never Trumper types, now mostly ex republican. -

CIB Conducts Emergency Response Drills as Part of Port Security Plan at Laem Chabang Port
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), led by officers from the Marine Police Division 5 and the specialised maritime tactical unit “ Matchanu” of Marine Division 2 conducted a security drill at Laem Chabang Port. This exercise, held in partnership with Hutchinson Company, aimed to reinforce emergency response procedures at the port as outlined in the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) for 2024. Under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Jiraphob Phuridej, CIB Commissioner, and key officials including Police Colonel Ponsak Laorujiralai, Deputy Commander, Marine Police Division; Police Colonel Watchiranon Nonna, Commander of Marine Division 2; and Acting Police Colonel Khajornyot Songpradit, the drill was organised to test and enhance the readiness of port security forces. The operation was managed by Police Lieutenant Wassu Buajeen of Marine Division 2 and Police Lieutenant Thanan Manujantrat, along with their respective units from Marine Police Division 5 and the “Matchanu” tactical team. The CIB’s maritime teams conducted various emergency response simulations, designed to prepare officers for potential threats and incidents at the port. These included coordinated responses to security breaches, simulated rescue operations, and the deployment of specialised water-based tactics by the “Matchanu” unit. This drill reflects CIB’s commitment to professionalism, neutrality, and support for public safety, ensuring the highest level of security at critical infrastructure sites like Laem Chabang Port. So I was right about abortion - Roe v Wade is dead
Its relatively easy for the FDA to withdraw approval for mifepristone and misoprostol, or reinstate previous prescription requirements. Robert Califf has been director of the FDA for a long time, and will probably step down very soon. The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine nearly succeeded in getting approval overturned last year for Mifepristone, which is used in about 2/3rds of abortions. Depends what Kennedy's role will be. The FDA isn't independent. Its part of the Department of Health and Human Services. HHS can and has done, over rule FDA approvals. The HHS wouldn't even need to have approval withdrawn, but insist on a tightening of the prescribing instructions, effectively killing it. The government could very well argue that while it respects the Rights of States to approve Abortions, the Federal government cannot be a facilitating party. The FDA might reduce the number of weeks which Mifepristone can be used; 70 days. 45% of abortions in the US occur before 6 weeks. Tweaking the prescribing instructions can reduce abortions, as well as tightening up where it can be prescribed. RFK is supportive of lack of restrictions on abortions, but maybe he'll have to drop his objections if he is really to be allowed to run "wild" at the FDA. -
