Khutan
Last time I saw that lounge, it was only a roped-off section of the business class lounge. So any improvment will be good

And virtually no different to the business class lounge except the little girly takes your drink order. Nibbles are pretty much the same as business class and the loo's were tiny. Oh, but they did use to have English newspapers (Telegraph) which I have not seen in the business class lounge. Little known fact is that TG Gold card holders (not Star Alliance gold e.g LH, UA) flying business class can use the first class lounge but nobody at check in will tell you that
piet pompies
Just got off phone with TG in HKG, still on denied boarding issue, posted elsewhere. The person had no knowledge of 1st class lounge use for TG Gold. If you can get the reference it would be good to have. Never offered to any of us with TG Gold. Just use the First Class lounge with your TG Gold and be quite.
piet pompies
To Digger, George, This reply is being sent from 1st Class lounge in BKK. I have been emphatically told here that Gold card with or without Business Tkt cannot get you in here. Strictly for 1sr Class. Where did you get your info? Khutan
You have been only looking at the Business class lounge. The first class lounge is on its own not far from the main entrance to the departure area. Dr Pat; I was talking about 10 - 15 years ago, when the Lounge concept was starting. The first class lounge was definetly a roped off section in the middle of the lounge. If I remember correctly, back then I don't think there was any Business or first class lounge, just one lounge. That is how long I have travelled with TG. Mostly because my corporate privelages got removed. Now being a One World Platinum member, you just go straight into the First class lounge regardless of your ticket.

I have done it more times than I care to remember as the first class lounge is nearer to the immigration desk than the business class lounge. How to do it? Just walk in with your business class boarding pass and TG gold card and smile at the receptionist. She looks at your boarding card and escorts you into the lounge where another girl takes your drink order. At least thats my experience. NEVER been told I cannot use the lounge (however I have before being gold card and/or flying economy). As i said beofre its an unstated benefit.
