ACRO police check vs DBS for non-imm visa, which one?

Hard to get a definitive answer for this one. I'm hoping to get a non-immB visa for Thailand for teaching job. Either go in on a Tourist Visa then convert in TL, or get non-immB in advance from Thai embassy in UK. Both a bit of a long shot right now, for sure - but....anyone know the deal on the police check?

 

Two types seem to exist, both ACRO and DBS - Thai embassy website in UK implies that either is acceptable, but anyone know for sure? Would a DBS certificate suffice at immigration in Bangkok for example or must it be the ACRO? (DBS is easier and less hassle to get tbh)

The ACRO check is what most people get.

Immigration does not require a background check for non-b visas or extensions of stay,

ok, that's handy to know - so just rock up at Bangkok immigration with letter from job, and no UK police check proof is needed? is that so?

There is a lot more than a letter from you employer needed. No police clearance needed.

Iv'e got that covered, just need to get to Thailand now! That's the hard part, but looks like Phuket may be opening up in July, I guess that's a start
