Covid extensions in Krabi - 1 trip or 2?

I'd like to travel around the south for a bit, but I will need to extend my visa at some point. From what I've seen on here, some immigration offices are giving you an under consideration stamp and getting you to come back a couple of weeks later, and others are just giving you the extension first time round. Does anyone know how it works in Krabi? It wouldn't normally be a big deal to go back to immigration a second time, but it means staying in the same place for at least 2 weeks.
