Benz 380se Replacement Key

Featured Replies

Got a bit of a problem. Last week my youngest boy Alexander was playing with me car, house and office keys early morning. Since then the keys have gone missing and a search has provided no keys.

The house and office along with my Toyota keys have been replaced, but I have a serious problem that I had only 1 key remaining for the Benz. I know that I should have had another and thought I did and I also know how difficult it is to get copies made, but now I must find an expert to install a new lock and ignition switch or master a copy of the key by a special process. Please advise if you know of a person or company that I can contact on the Benz key.

Thanks for any positive input.

What year is your Benz?

Where was it manufactured?

I had a one only key go missing back in the west.. I was able to have a new key made to fit in a couple of days based on a code on the barrel of the ignition..

Its a long shot but benz being what they are its worth a look and attempt.

Imported Benz 380SE 1985 imported from Germany.

Have you tried one of the Mercedes Benz Registers? They'll have links to specialists who should be able to solve the problem for you.

Also I recall that Mercedes Benz had a VIN registration process, which could give you access direct to the factory

Many thanks for the tip. I will check into the code and ask Benz.

The dealers here are not helpful as I imported the car not purchased locally.

Just started working on the MBRs. Thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully the factory can send me some keys soon.

Appreciate the replies.

Got replacement keys and the day after I found that my son hid the keys under the shrine along with candles and other goodies. Thanks for the suggestions.
