Hi guys!

I'm in Thailand as a tourist, did the 2 week quarantine in February and have been enjoying my time on beautiful islands since then.

My 2 month Single-entry Tourist Visa is coming to an end in a few weeks and now I'm in Bangkok, planning to go to Immigration tomorrow to ask for an extension.

I was originally going to request a 30-day extension, but I've read here that one can also ask for a 60-day C19 extension....

Do you guys think there's any chance I can get the 60 day extension if I ask for it?... Because I am technically not stranded in Thailand, I am free to go back to my country and flights from Thailand to my country are not banned at all... ???????? So I don't want to abuse the system, but it would be nice to have 60 extra days instead of only 30 extra days.

I doubt it's possible, and am also fine with the 30 day extension, but if anyone knows if it's easy or possible to get the 60 days even if I'm not stranded here, let me know ????

Thanks in any case.

You do not have to be stranded in Thailand to apply for a 60 day covid 19 extension.

Immigration may insist you apply for the normal 30 day extension before the 60 day extension.

Most likely made to apply for the 'standard' 30 day extension. After that you will be able to obtain 60 day covid extension. No proof of being stranded required.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

Hmm, interesting, I didn't think I would be considered for the 60-day extension if I'm not stranded. But good to know! I'll bring it up tomorrow and see what they say ????

You state in your OP that your current permission of stay (stamp) ends in "few weeks". I would consider obtaining the 30 day extension. That would take you to late May.

The current order to issue 60 day covid extensions ends May 29 (yes it may be extended). You could apply for the covid extension late May and that would take you through till late July.
