Hiya All,

I want an account that I can deposit money into every month and get a good interest rate. I do NOT want tobe able to withdraw any money for one year at ALL! I am based in the UK and have looked into this area, the best one is Halifax at 5.33% interest, but they only let you deposit a maximum of £500 per month.

Are there any accounts out there that fit my requirements?

Thanks all :o

Look here.

UK Bank Rates

Naka.

There are some good deals with regular saving accounts paying u[pyo and possibly over now 12% in the UK. For instant access ICICI are paying 6.05% now. as there has just been a rate rise, not all the bank has adjusted their rates yet - ICICI is a good bet at the mo is you have a lump sum...

As in my earlier post, I am paying money every month into an account. I want a 1 YEAR locked account (pay money in without being able tyo withdraw). I do not want a savings accessible account!

The only one I have found is the Halifax offering 5.3% interest? Anymore ideas?

Thanks :o

go to www.moneysavingexpert.org and do a search for regular savings accounts - you will find quite a few that pay over 10% and up to 12% as far as i am aware - these require you to pay an amount monthly or you wont get the rate.

There are current account now that pay 6.2% on balance, you can get fixed rate 1 year accounts paying 6.8%+ now - but I wouldnt go for a fix now as there could well be a .5 to 1% increase in interest rates over the next year. All depends on inflation.
