My new Swiss passport was ready at the embassy in Bangkok for pick up; needed to return my old passport to them.

to avoid the taxi cost to Bangkok, the receptionist in my hotel sent my old passport via local Family Mart (apparently EMS) to Bangkok on a Friday. 

On Saturday morning I got a message from EMS on my phone that delivery was not possible to the embassy on Saturday, but I could click on the option for delivery on Monday, which I did. On Monday I got the message on my phone that the passport was delivered to the embassy.

On Tuesday I got my passport back delivered to my hotel in Pattaya!

Nice to hear about this good service by a foreign embassy in Thailand. This should be — and probably is — the norm but it is usually the exceptions that get reported in a forum.

 

Did the embassy send the old, invalidated passport back to you so that you may keep it as a souvenir and for use with Thai immigration, as necessary?
