Have you done or organized a flight under such conditions? Lie flat seat. Accompanying person will be part of it,

I normally I fly Qatar business

Would you rather fly without stopover?

Sad to hear that you are injured.

Qatar Airways will have to stopover in Doha, it is their home base in order to connect.

Check with them, they will help all Special Need cases.

Pray for your speedy recovery.

I've witnessed someone do such a flight a few years back: they constructed a bed on top of economy seats meaning the patient was almost at shoulder height of someone standing in the isle. As the bed blocked about 6 seats I guess they also got charged 6 seats, at least, plus another seat for the accompanying person.

Edit: found a picture on google how lufthansa arranges it in their planes which is about what I saw that fligth:

My guess is that you absolutely want to fly without stopover. Getting in and out is a huge trouble and once you are there you can at least try to sleep or read a book.

Another edit: hope your health is fine besides the need to lie flat: in case of possible medical problems you will need the accompanying person to be a doctor who has been specifically trained for air transport (my wife got her license 2 years ago, which is why i know).

I saw the same on a BA flight Bangkok London years ago. Stretcher laid on top of the economy rear window seats.

The LH photo gives a good idea how it works. How many seats it uses depends on the configuration of the aircraft, usually at the back of Economy.  Sooner or later emergencies happen, and airlines are used to dealing with travel in such circumstances. A direct flight is certainly recommended, as transfer is complicated and likely to be more expensive (but you may want to check it).  You will need to talk to the Reservations office of the airline, to make such a booking (can't be done online) and to ascertain what documents are required, eg Doctor's Fit to Fly certificate (in relation to the medical problem, not Covid, which would also be needed.) Good luck.   (ex-airliner).
