COVID-19 patients concealing their chronology infect 20-30 Thai medics per day

78 nurses from 17 hospitals in Bangkok have had to self-isolate after dealing with COVID-19 infected patients who lied about their recent movements, according to the Confederation of Thai Professional Councils.

President of Thailand’s Nursing and Midwifery Council, Tassana Boontong, in her capacity as the president of the confederation, announced that, due to the COVID-19 situation, many medical personnel have been working around the clock, where some of them have contracted the virus. She said that 20-30 medics have been infected each day.

The high number of medical personnel in quarantine has left many hospitals with staff shortages, resulting in a single medic having to deal with up to 100 patients, instead of the usual 20, which Tassana described as a crisis.

Sorry, I don't understand this article.

Does the Covid virus know that these people have hidden their chronology? ????

Seems to be that the medical personal should apply the same, stringent health procedures to anyone whom they deal with.

The solution would be to vaccinate all healthcare workers, before anyone else. If only Thailand had a million or so doses of vaccine to inoculate them.

Thais telling lies? Surely not.

Little wonder!  Who wants to be diagnosed with COVID if the result is being held hostage in those "quarantine facilities".

I'd be scared out of my wits if I had a cold and they thought I had COVID.

Thailand is seriously, seriously backwards.

Result of giving vaccines to futsal players, people in Phuket to stimulate tourism , Thai airways personnel, etc instead of first the health care workers who are at risk every day. Shame

If the medics have been infected by known positive patients, there is something wrong with the PPE or hospital procedures.

If they have been infected by unknown positive patients, one has to ask why ALL incoming patients are not tested.

Where/how the patient contracted covid is irrelevant and is just trying to shift the blame for poor procedures.

It seems several hospitals have had to close after staff caught covid

Step 1: Blame the patient.

Begs the question why are nurses dealing with Covid infected patients not wearing full protective clothing?

Or why are these unknown patients being tested or questioned by nurses not wearing full protection, anyone in contact with these should have full PPE

When I was dealing with drug abusers in my previous life, one of the first rules was to assume that all my clientele were HIV+ or HepB positive and take no risks!  Surely the same applies to medical staff dealing with any patient during this pandemic.  Assume that everyone is Covid positive and take no risks until proved otherwise!  It is the hospital policies that are at fault not the patient.

When I attended hospital recently, I was asked by a nurse in full PPE, whether I had been to any high risk areas or venues recently.  As I hadn't a clue where these high risk areas or venues in Khon Kaen were, I replied no.  I am sure many others will do the same.

only few countries prioritized government  and not a front liners, Anutin getting his jab on national TV was a pathetic proof of this, really shameless

And why have these Front Line Workers not been vaccinated first, even before the Government and other "entitiled people"  Yet another mistake by the responsible Minister, who has failed to protect his staff.

What more can you say Anutin and the great leader have both had their jabs but the frontline staff haven't, who would bet that the rest of the 'good' people haven't had theirs too before the frontline staff...

In Rawai, 50 people infected with COVID-19 have fled, 20 refusing to go to detention center, they refuse to quarantine themselves.  Anyone who lives in the Phuket area, please beware of COVID-19.

Received above message from friend in Rawai, seems to me if true it’s because Thai’s have no interest in being put in temporary hospitals that look more like concentration camps???? Botton line Covid Pandemic now out of control????????
