sending money from uk

Featured Replies

Hello, Anybody got advice for sending larger sums of pounds from uk ?, Ive sent with Wise before but I think  for larger sums their charges start to add up, Thanks for any tips

I use Kasikorn frequently on a business basis. Yes the fees are important, but so is the 'smoothness' of the transaction. Try not to send over 1M and certainly never send over 2.5M ( I believe the figure is around there that serious questions are made.)

I used to use SCB but they made me return home and have another invoice created and printed because the total value was £0.50pence out on a bill of £30k.

The charges do add up, but because of getting a significantly better exchange rate you end up with more baht in your wallet.  However, there's a low limit per transfer of 2 million baht.

when transferring from home account to thai account, should i transfer in home currency or thai currency ?

Transfers in home cuurrency give you a much better exchange rate.

Always home currency. Never Thai currency. If you send in Thai currency you will be scammed by your foreign bank!

thanks, i had forgotten. my home bank had changed the entire site,

i started to experiment with 1000 baht transfer to see if it works and got surprised i couldnt see any tangible

increase in my thai bank account, i figured with this <deleted> value i might as well use ATM

On the online payment order form there is also a section where you have to select who pays for the fee of the recipient bank. Be sure to select the recipient for that.

With some banks, one has to choose ¨split fees¨, which means that the sender pays for the fee of the sending bank and the recipient pays for the fee of the receiving bank. I once selected by mistake ¨all fees for my account¨ and this resulted in an additiol fee of EUR 25.00 for my bank´s trouble to settle the fee payment with the receiving bank.
