International Delivery Services

We've received three boxes via EMS in the last 12 months from overseas and each time the box has arrived 95% water damaged, literally falling apart.

At a guess it has been possibly sitting in water not just the rained on. So much water in fact that they have to put the box in a plastic bag for local delivery.

We understand Customs and or the Post open boxes to check even if labelled as a gift.  Does this happen with domestic deliveries within Thailand too?

Are the courier companies better at this?   DHL  FedEx etc

In 15 years never seen anything like you describe.

38 years and the same, never happened to me either. Wonder where the OP lives and perhaps it is just a storage/parcel receive area at his post office locally that has this problem ?

I know right.

We thought okay one time sure, maybe there was an accident. But after three times we started taking photos hehe

The damage you describe I suspect is more probable by boat, a slow cheap surface delivery over months. In all my time on this forum never seen this "by air".

It was sent on April 21, arrived today as per the picture, would that be by boat?

The plastic bag was provided by EMS
