The Quickest Way To Get A 60 Day Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My visa expires in a couple of days so I'll need to get a 60 day tourist visa. Where is the quickest place I can get one?

Also, will I need to provide proof of outbound travel?

Thanks!

You need to go to a thai embassy or consuIate outside of ThaiIand.

There are many neighbouring countries you can go to, the best fuss free one (according to forum members) seems to be Penang.

If you do a forum search, there shouId be a fair bit of info on Penang as weII as other counties offering this visa.

AII the best.

What about Lao or one of the Visa bus's that are advertisied everywhere, I think they go to Cambodia?

the Cambodia trips will NOT net you a tourist visa

they will get you a visa exemption stamp if you are eligible and have an onward ticket ....

to get a tourist visa you MUST visit an embassy/consulate outside of Thailand. (or go to another country and use an expiditing service that goes to the embassy/consulate there

Thanks. What about the outbound travel docs, are these needed?

Also - If anyone else is about to do the same thing within 2/3 days and wants to tag along, PM me! I'm going on my own so a beer buddy would be nice!

Sorry... one more question...

How many days does the visa take to process? I think I remember reading 2 days at one time.

If I flew out to Singapore at 7am and arrive at 10.30 - Will I have enough time to reach the embassy?

Does anyone know what time the following day am I able to pick the visa up?

What passport / Nationality do you hold?

One of the Lao trips will give you a visa if you stay 1 night at the other side of the border where there is a consullate. I think it is called SVANNAKHET

This would only work if the flight is on time, immigration at SIN is quick and you jump in a taxi, get to the embassy and there is no queue. I think you can apply for a visa till 11.30 or so.

You can then pick up your passport the next day between 2 and 4 pm.
