Number of initial Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines for Pattaya and Banglamung area in mid-May decreased, inoculation date slightly postponed

Banglamung – The number of Sinovac vaccines scheduled for a mid-May arrival in Banglamung and Pattaya has been decreased from 30,000 doses to 20,000 doses, according to city officials this evening, May 14th, 2021. Vaccination dates have also been slightly postponed due to the lack of trained medical staff for this first major batch of vaccines.

The Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai told local Pattaya media today, including The Pattaya News, “The number of Sinovac Covid – 19 vaccines set for mid-May has been decreased from 30,000 doses to 20,000 doses. (The Pattaya News notes that we had previously been given a number of 40,000 earlier this month, although that has also seemingly been reduced due to ongoing outbreaks of higher urgency in the Bangkok area).

The Chonburi Public Health Office said the reduction is primarily due to limited doses available at a national level at this exact moment and that other areas were a higher priority due to ongoing outbreaks. This is expected to be resolved, however, in only a few short weeks with the majority of Thailand’s vaccines expected to start arriving from locally produced AstraZeneca. We are still on track for our plans to re-open to foreign tourism by October.”

The hub of grand ideas and epic fails?

Lack of trained staff to make an injection ? I inject myself weekly without any training .

Did someone outbid Pattaya to get little more?????

There's a clinic every 5 feet.  Probably more people who know how to inject than want that vaccine.

Mr Mayor as already gotten his...was it this Chinese <deleted> one....don`t all shout at once now ????

Hmmmmm

So they do not have enough Vaccines

Do not have enough Trained Staff

Are being continually lied too about the number of vaccines they will receive.

But they do have a Cow Shed called a Sports Stadium to not Inoculate all the People.

Priceless

Exactly!  ????

Too few doses to even warrant a story about.  20,000?  Ridiculous.

Unless its just the vaccine card then they aint coming mate

Slightly postponed eh ..

Is that the same as a long weight ..

It's just getting to embarrassing to even take the pi$$ anymore. Just a very sad state of affairs with only one person to blame.

First do not have vaccine now do not have trained people to inject, next will be no people who want to get it ????

Since the army is in charge, they could equip the snipers with tranquilliser guns and have them inject the vaccines without having to come into contact with their targets.

This would ensure that social distancing is respected, and in the meantime they could organize a contest to see which sniper has shot his target from the farthest distance.

Obviously, this elegant solution would also solve the problem of not having enough trained nurses to inject the vaccines.

Surely only the other day the mayor said " We are ready for anything " surprise surprise, anything got here and they ain't ready, ????????????????????????

If it weren't so serious you could laugh about this krap

They have only had months and months to train people for the most simplest of medical procedures.  What a failure.

No need to train people

Only in Pattaya area there is hundred of hospitals, clinics and medical shops and laboratories (All of them without any patients at the moment, except maybe few of the public ones)

All these people should be more than pleased to volonteer a day or two to vaccinate

i don't even mention the biggest thai military naval base in Sattahip, they have a big hospital too here, they have maybe few people to send for help on a day of vaccination

imo it's more again a Thai style lame excuse to try to not lose face

The fact is: there is no vaccine doses to inject

(Except few thousand of sinovac)

Exactly months is not enough, takes 2 years just to become nursing assistant and learn how to open a bottle or fill up a syringe. It’s another 2 years to learn how to inject ????????????

You need to stop playing those computer games and venture out of the basement at your moms.

Missed words

The vaccine  roll out is commencing, slowly but ahead of schedule, with priority  groups being determined. People bickering on this forum might try talking  to their neighbors or asking around at  various hospitals  or even checking other threads on this forum...Many countries had start up problems. Thailand is not alone in this
