PHUKET: People wanting to enter Phuket who are not fully vaccinated or cannot prove they have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of arriving must serve a 14-day quarantine if they want to enter the province.

Only a few Baht per inmate for COVID-19 prevention in prisons, says former Transport Minister

Former Transport Minister Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt has highlighted the fact that only a small COVID-19 prevention budget, 750,000 Baht, has been allocated to cover all prisons nationwide. This averages out to only a few Baht per inmate, at a time when more than 11,000 inmates have tested positive for the virus.

Thailand’s Ministry of Defence has trimmed its budget for 2022, for the third consecutive year, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that the government will have more funds available to control the disease and help the people affected by the outbreak, Defence Ministry Spokesman Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich said yesterday (Monday).

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand reported on Tuesday 35 new coronavirus deaths, a record daily number that included the country's youngest victim up to now, a two-month-old baby, as authorities struggle to contain a third wave of infections.
