Gun Transportation In Thailand

Recommended Posts

Returning to Thailand mid-June.

Anyone know of regulations regarding transport of handgun in the Kingdom?

Wishing to take my .357 to Issan area (Burriram). I belong to the Thai police shooting club there. IMHO Thai gun costs are prohibitive and would rather have a target weapon I am used to.

Handgun would be broken down, since airline requires seperate packing.

Any information out there?

Your firearm would be illegal here if it's not legally registered... and you can't even import it in unless you're licensed to do so.

But in general, those without permits to carry here are typically advised to simply transport unloaded, and to only transport between shooting range and home - whether you are doing this is usually an on the spot judgement call by police check points: for example if it's 4am and you're returning home from RCA, armed,... they might call you out on breaking that rule.
