Bangkokians might soon be able to book their VAX date at 7-Eleven!

The latest word from the spokesman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is that they are working on a new "web based" plan to book vaccine queue numbers.

This could mean that you'd be able to book your jab at 7-Eleven if they come onboard with the scheme, said spokesman Pol Capt Pongsakorn Kwanmuang.

The idea is that this will supplement the Mor Prom app that is currently being used for the over 60s and those with underlying health conditions.

The web based system details will be announced next week ahead of operation in June and July.

Yesterday governor Aswin Kwanmuang visited one of 25 walk-in centers outside hospitals at Big C Bang Bon in the west of the Thai capital, reported Thai Rath.

He was advising registration beforehand, echoing fears from Thai premier Prayuth Chan-ocha who had reportedly put the brakes on the walk-in rollout on Tuesday.

The fears are of overcrowding because people might not register beforehand.

Aswin still spoke of vaccinating thousands of front line workers and people such as bus driver/bus conductors, road sweepers and other staff that deal with the public.

There are also plans to vax 170,000 teachers and school staff in the capital.

He said that with capacity at 126 hospitals as well as the walk-in centers it is hoped that 60,000 can be vaccinated daily.

Aswin said that Bangkok will be getting 5 million doses of vaccine for June and July.

The BMA for Bangkok seems to be saying very little in regards to vaccinations for foreign nationals, except for the one comment some days back by this same BMA spokesman that foreign nationals might have to wait until August.

In contrast, the CCSA's spokesman said recently that foreign nationals should be able to start vaccinations by late May or June, although that was under the walk-in vaccination centers plan that now seems to be in doubt, at least in terms of those centers being opened for the general public.

That's awesome. You can book for either of the 2 CP co-owned vaccines at a CP owned shop. Do you need to do that with a TrueMoveH mobile phone or do you get a free SIM if you get their vaccine?

Shows who really runs this country.

I have long thought that you should be allowed to conduct all Immigration business, such as paying for visa extensions or doing 90-day reports, at any 7-Eleven.

Give it some time and it might happen.

The 1st of April has been and gone. I remember one year you could renew your visa at 7/11 on 1/4.

Not that far fetched as CP owns 7-11 and they also owns 15% of Sinovac Biotech...

should hire Chinese or Russian hackers and all will be ready in a day or two, probably will cost a fraction of funds spent already

I think your observation is spot on. The vaccination center at True Digital Park is also sponsored by CP - and while they don't have any vaccine yet, they do have large posters with the logos of the sponsors already.
