May 25, 20215 yr BANGKOK (NNT) - The Commerce Ministry has vowed to promote Thai product exports through online business matching and virtual events, with the aim of boosting online sales to over 16 billion baht this year, up from 14 billion baht last year. Minister Jurin Laksanavisit said the government’s export promotional plans have to shift, from trade exhibitions to more virtual events and e-commerce, amid the COVID-19 crisis. He said the Commerce Ministry has been working closely with the private sector to fine tune strategies and find new approaches to stimulate the country’s exports during the COVID-19 crisis. Major exports include agricultural products, automotive parts and processed food. Meanwhile, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) launched the "Dealer Online Connect" project on Monday, lasting from May 24th-28th, to help small entrepreneurs to sell their products in the global market. The department has brought more than 80 international online distributor groups to purchase Thai products from 1,200 companies, through online trade negotiation technology. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-05-25 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
